March 2020 — In collaboration with Spirit in Action International, we provided emergency food relief to vulnerable populations in Kibera during the pandemic lockdown
During the COVID-19 pandemic, government directives for stay-at-home and social distancing left daily wage earners without livelihoods and facing hunger. E-CATS collaborated with Spirit in Action International to provide emergency food relief to the most vulnerable populations in Kibera informal settlement.

The Founder and Co-Founder of e-CATS speak candidly about the Emergency Response Food Distribution initiative — why they launched it, how COVID-19 forced them to pivot from their regular programs, and what they hoped it would mean for families in Kibera's informal settlements. They discuss the impact of the pandemic curfew on daily wage earners, the packing process, and their vision for improving living standards through solidarity and compassionate action.

Live footage captured directly from the food distribution site during the COVID-19 emergency response. Watch as e-CATS volunteers and the team reach families in Kibera with essential food packages — dry food stuffs, protective gear (face masks), and sanitation kits — in a powerful show of community solidarity during one of the most challenging periods the informal settlement has faced.

e-CATS collaborated with Spirit in Action to provide food to Kibera's vulnerable population affected by the country's curfew during the Corona Pandemic. A true show of solidarity and social responsibility. The populations affected received dry food stuffs, protective gear (face masks) and sanitation kits (hand sanitizers and bar soaps) to keep proper hygiene. E-CATS also shared their love with them.

A behind-the-scenes look at the dedication and care that went into every package delivered during the COVID-19 emergency response.
"Beneficiaries appreciated the timely relief during their suffering. Volunteers acknowledged the selection process as the most successful they'd witnessed, attributing success to thorough pre-distribution mapping and verification."
